I ran in to Michaels on my lunch break. I didn’t find what I was looking for, but the dollar bins were full of all kinds of lovely things. I wanted to buy more than I did, but I tried to keep it to items that I know I’ll actually use.
My favorite find were these cupcake liners with a chevron print. I nearly bought the whole bin, but I decided to stop at one for myself and two for ready to go gifts. They also had stripes and polka dots which were just as lovely. I keep trying to think of some reason I’ll need more cupcake liners, so I may end up back in there getting a few more. I think a set of these wrapped up with a cake mix and a container of frosting, or if a muffin tin is on a wedding registry a package of these thrown in with the gift. Or if someone is throwing a kid birthday party or a baby shower the bold colors and prints are perfect for that! So many options to gift or use cute cupcake liners!
They also had these great notepads with magnets on the back. One for me two for gifts.
Little glass trays. They had some adorable bold colored ones, some with damask print and some with flowers. I went with a black and white striped one.
Chevron to-go boxes. No idea what I’m going to do with these, but they’re so cute.
And glow stick bracelets. Always good to have on hand!
Do you have any big weekend plans? I’ve got a few things going on and some other exciting tidbits.
Some people get very excited about Easter candy hitting the store shelves. I do enjoy picking up a bag of Starburst jelly beans which you can find this time of year, but this has been the first year I’ve hunted down a specific Easter candy. I discovered Cadbury’s Royal Dark Mini Eggs last year and have been checking shelves for them all month. My dad finally found some in Kansas, and when I went for a visit last weekend I stocked up on a few bags. A friend said she found some at Target in OKC, so I’ll have to check there the day after Easter and see if I find any on clearance. Do you have a favorite Easter candy?
I purchased my first DSLR camera today! My little point and shoot camera stopped working a while back and I’ve been getting by borrowing from friends when necessary. My Nikon will take a week or so to arrive, and I cannot wait!
One of my favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan, is coming to OKC this weekend and we’re going to see him. I think there are still tickets left, so if you need something to do Sunday night it should be a good show!
I am super close to finishing the t-shirt quilt I’m making for my friend Elyse. Eight more seams.
I’m making Cheesy Zucchini Enchiladas for dinner tonight.
Some friends are getting married this weekend at IAO. I think an art gallery would be a cool venue to get married at, so I’m looking forward to seeing how everything looks, and the fun time celebrating with friends!

My grandma was telling me about her garden and a book she got, Lasagna Gardening. So I’m going to pick up a copy from the library on the way home for some light weekend reading.
Have a good one!
I’m a sack lunch kind of girl and probably bring my lunch 99% of the time. That being said I do get burnt out on packing my lunch from time to time, so I like to think up ways to make myself excited for my lunch and make the lunch packing easy.
Currently I’m obsessed with Bento Boxes. One of my co-workers had a really cute one and after seeing it I started hunting around. The one she has is monbento it’s a French company (Japanese idea French design – can’t go wrong there!) and they ship from France, so after the exchange rate and shipping costs they come to be quite expensive. However Amazon carries a few different colors of the basic box, so as long as you’re not picky you can get one for closer to $30.
The monbento site is pretty awesome with all its choices though.
- You can make your own set and pick the color of each piece
- They sell square molds for your hard boiled eggs so that the egg will fit in the corner of your bento box
- They sell rectangular silicone mini pans so that your quiche or cake or bread will fit perfectly into your bento box
I definitely wouldn’t mind having one!
